Review

Hello everybody, Josh here again with another in-depth review. This time we're reviewing the third in an amazing series; Fireluke have gone and made another top quality tank and left nothing behind. First there was the 'Fireluke Mesh' with the 'Fireluke 2' following but now we have this awesome new release by Freemax, the Fireluke 3 Sub Ohm Tank.

Before this review, I had only ever tried their original 'Fireluke Mesh' and I have to say at the time it really opened my eyes to the sub ohming world so I was really excited to test this out.. spoiler alert!.. I loved it!

First Impressions

freemax-fireluke-3-tank-review-in-depth

On first unboxing the Fireluke 3 you're met with what you'd expect a tank kit to include. You get the tank, with 2 coils, spare glass and the addition of a spare O-ring... oh and the user manual which I'm sure you'll chuck to one side! I would advise giving it a little read as this tank operates slightly different to others you may be familiar with.

On first inspection you can feel the build quality straight away. Built with a combination of stainless steel and resin, with the top of the tank and drip tip utilising smooth buffed type resin the whole tank has a solid and smooth feel. I really think this is definitely created to last, just like my Fireluke Mesh still going strong to date!

The tank glass is obviously TPD compliant which breaks my heart every time as the bubble glass looks gorgeous! However saying this, the TPD tank glass provided feels just as strong as the the rest of the tank alongside a diamond cut style.

The biggest improvement and selling point for the Fireluke 3 is the top sliding fill port. I, for one, had problems on the original Fireluke Mesh design with this due to it sliding open in my pocket on occasions. This was also a problem reported on the Fireluke 2. It looks like Freemax have finally fixed this problem this time round by incorporating stiffer ball bearings ensuring it stays closed. I purposely tested this numerous times and I have to say there were no problems.. finally! Although the ball bearings are stiffer, the ability to slide the top open is not hindered and can be done so with ease.

With an 810 widebore drip tip, this tank has the bulk feel throughout and with the 510 threaded connection you'll be sure to find the device you want to attach it to, although it was made with the Freemax Maxus 100W kit in mind.

As I have already pointed out, this tank is a definite improvement from their predecessors but does it vape any better? Are there obvious improvements or is it all the same in a new skin?...

POD Tank & How It Vapes

freemax-fireluke-3-tank-review-tank-build-gif

As highlighted earlier, the tank comes with both the SS904L X2 Coil (0.2ohm) and the SS904L X1 Coil (0.15ohm). I tested both coils throughout their lifespan and I have to say both were fantastic and from what I remember from their original, this latest instalment runs rings around it!

SS904L X2 Coil (0.2ohm)

The X2 coil comes pre-installed with recommended use at 40W-80W. I personally found that the best was around 70W. To say the flavour was excellent and well above average is an understatement. I tested the coils with Bubblegum by Solid Vape and the sweetness of the juice came through excellent, in fact it somewhat amplified it in comparison to newer tanks out there at present! The airflow was just right and ploughed it's way through the higher VG liquid with ease. Dual mesh coils are always something I've personally enjoyed and this is definitely up there in the best I've tried. What was quite significant was that I wouldn't particularity say there was a break in period with this coil. I obviously started at a lower wattage and worked up, but once I hit the sweet spot of 70W the flavour was there, and it stayed all the way through til the end!

SS904L X1 Coil (0.15ohm)

The X1 coil also comes with recommended use at 40W-80W. I feel this has a similar style to the nexMESH, with the SS904 strip with circular holes punched throughout. It's a single cylinder type coil with noticeably more airflow in total. Unlike mentioned with the X2 coil, this one required more of a break in period. With the cotton/tea fibre formula wrapped around this coil, the absorption of liquid was still quick however. Although the flavour on this coil matched the same great levels of intensity of the X2, I still prefer the inhale from a mesh coil. I personally think the difference between the two stock coils is totally down to preference of inhale more than anything.

Refilling the Pod

freemax-fireluke-3-tank-review-refill-gif

  • Pull Plastic Pod Section From 510 Base
  • Remove Rubber Plug at Base of Pod
  • Add Your Favourite E-Liquid From Royal Flush Vape
  • Wait Around 5 Minutes For Adequate Saturation

Final Thoughts

freemax-fireluke-3-tank-review-coils

Overall the Fireluke 3 is a definite improvement over the predecessors. Freemax have for sure taken on board any problems from previous renditions, such as the flimsy sliding refill port and increased the production quality throughout. Honestly, this review may be slightly one sided as my love for the Fireluke series is apparent and to be completely fair, it deserves to be! If you're looking for a new tank and already have a decent device then I can't recommend this enough.

By being picky there are a few areas that I could pick at but there's nothing really evident that would stop you from having a great quality, flavour induced vape throughout your coils lifespan!

Okay as a back up tank

It's okay, nothing remarkable and filling is a bit awkward if your bottles are 100ml with the standard size nozzle. I usually use Zeus tanks but thought I'd try one of these as they usually get big reviews, will serve as a back-up in case of emergency.

I thought it would be better.....

The air flow is a little on the intense side. It also is prone to leaking out of the air flow slot :( If you close it, it does slow the leaking down.
On the plus side it is easy to refill. Clouds production and taste weren't as good as the voopoo pnp pod, or the smok baby prince. It does however bring out the sweetness in the liquids. I have since read that this leak can be sorted with other coils in.....so will try that in the future. It's not a bad tank, just not as good as I thought it would be. Honest review is that the smok Baby prince and the voopoo pnp pod are far superior to this.
