Whats in the box
Hello everybody, Josh here with my first hands on review at Royal Flush Vape. Today I will be reviewing one of the latest and most anticipated pod systems by SMOK.... The NFIX!
As many of us know, SMOK are arguably one of the biggest names in the industry with products being launched on a regular basis, some loved by the community and others being received negatively. Therefore the question being asked frequently, is the NFIX just another basic pod system on the market or is there more to it? After all, it does have some serious competition with the likes of the Caliburn by Uwell.... I hope to answer all your questions within this review!
Coil Resistance: 0.8ohm
Output Wattage: 1-25W
Battery Capacity: 700mAh
Dimensions: 110.5mm x 21.5mm x 13mm
On first unboxing, the NFIX weight and feel are very similar to that of the Caliburn, there is very strong build quality of the device whilst also remaining light and very 'pocket'. Turning on the device is a simple 5 press (both on and off), with a 3 button press to change the wattage. The simple monochrome OLED screen on the device is not oversized and nor should it be. All information we require to see are present, including current wattage (ranges from 1w-25w on round robin) alongside battery percentage, puff counter and current coil ohm. The pod itself pulls out the battery with ease and clips back in just as easy, however you'll have to click the pod in fully as the magnets only go so far. Refilling the pod is just as simple with a standard rubber seal on the side.
Let's talk about the burning question, the pod(s). I only tested the pod that comes in the standard box (the DC 0.8 ohm MTL). There is of course a 0.8ohm mesh pod which I unfortunately didn't manage to review. To answer quickly, they are amazing! The hit from the auto firing pod is incredibly smooth, whilst also providing adequate airflow for an MTL. The airflow is rather restrictive for DTL but can still be achieved. I used 20mg Lemon Lime nic salts from The Salt Stuff for my tests and it is the perfect device for them, and other nic salts for that matter I would believe. The flavour was just as great with every refill, all the way up until the point of the coil fulfilling its lifespan, which for me was around 15 refills on the first pod tested and 14 refills on the second, which proves that consistency is there. Each hit was crammed full of flavour and incredibly smooth, lasting all the way throughout with amazing durability. In addition I experienced no spitting or leaking at any wattage which is a clear advantage.
Overall the NFIX is definitely not just another pod system to fill the market gap for SMOK. The new pod kit has risen to the competition of the likes of the Uwell Caliburn, and in my opinion succeeded to create a superior product. The pods are of higher quality with their big contacts and metal bottoms. It's also nice to see Type-C charging being incorporated for a faster charge and the OLED display is the perfect size to display everything we need to see for a MTL pod device. I can hardly fault this new addition from SMOK and for that reason it definitely deserves a place within my vaping arsenal.
Battery Life: 5/5
Pod Capacity: 4/5
TL;DR: Lightweight Auto Firing Pod Kit with 700mah Type-C Charging, 25w Variable Wattage with Amazingly Smooth Flavour Through MTL Yet DTL Being Restrictive. Flavour Lasts Throughout With No Spitting Or Leaking. Perfect Pocket Device For Salt Nic and Everyday Use.
And that wraps up this review on a pod device I have genuinely really enjoyed. I know it deserves a space in my pocket for my days out, what about yours? Let us know in the comments below.
