Designed to be a high performance box mod, Argus GT ticks all the right boxes. A maximum 160W output power is enough to satisfy every level of vaper, and the PNP Pod tank proves a pleasure to all who try it. Argus GT adopts the GENE.TT chipset, with incredibly fast fire speed as well as excellent overall performance. Powered by two external 18650 batteries (Not included), the Argus supports Temperature control as well as variable wattage and is incredibly lightweight. The PNP pod tank is a TPD compliant 2ml capacity and is compatible with the range of PNP coils.

Temperature control mode supports temperature adjustments of Nickel, Titanium and Stainless Steel for the TC enthusiasts. PNP Pod tank features a 510 base connection, meaning you can swap it to use on any other compatible device. A highly adjustable airflow allows you to custom your vape to find your perfect hit. Type C fast charge means you can get charged and vaping again in no time, with great ease.

The VM5 0.2 ohm coil and the VM6 0.15 ohm coil provided with this kit will have you blowing clouds for days. Running from 40-60W and 40-80W respectively, these coils provide excellent flavour alongside those clouds.

INTRODUCTION

Hello everybody, Josh here again with another in-depth review. This time we're moving into something new.. the Argus GT kit by Voopoo! The company have been hitting the market hard recently with their very successful releases starting back with their Vinci series followed by the Drag S and Drag X. You'll be pleased to know that the Argus GT also includes their latest PnP tank and coils!

So with this in mind, does the Argus GT come with the same excellent build and flavour as their predecessors or is this a step backwards for Voopoo?....

First Impressions

On first unboxing the Argus GT Kit I was amazed to see it all comes within a small protective case, just like a small hand tool box or shaver kit. Not only does this kit box make a perfect accessory to carry your device, especially if travelling, the protective case also has foam inserts to ensure it's kept safe. Voopoo definitely went all out this time round with this professional packaging and gives them extra points for style!

Inside the box you'll find what you'd expect; Device, pod tank, USB cable, manual and 2 spare coils.

Wow it's light!.. These were my first words upon unboxing, even after inserting 2x 18650 batteries the device is still very lightweight, especially for a box mod design. The style of the mod reminds me of the same design Geekvape used on their Aegis Legend. The core is made from a beautiful matte-finished zinc alloy with the inclusion of the latest leather craze Voopoo seem to be following. The stitching details and buttons have a great feel and it's obvious the build quality is top notch. I'm still unsure if Voopoo use real leather on their devices or not but either way the device is definitely ergonomic and comfortable even with it being far from a pod kit sized device.

I tested the 510 connector with numerous tanks and pods with no issues at all, the thread is well built and as long as you don't go heavy handed every time it appears it will hold up very well. One thing to note is that the connector for the tank is not centred which I know a few may be disheartened to hear, however I'm not personally a fan of centred tanks these days, possibly due to preference with change.

The fire button on the device is nice and clicky, with both adjustment buttons being just as clicky and large enough for use. There is no rattling at all with the mod, everything is well built with precision. It's also nice to see the inclusion of USB Type-C although this is somewhat expected these days with the latest including this.

Overall I have to say that Voopoo have definitely taken their design quality to the next level, they have definitely taken some great examples away from Geekvape with their well build Aegis range. But how does it vape?....

POD Tank & How It Vapes

As mentioned, the Argus kit comes with the latest PnP pod tank. As suggested by the name, this pod tank utilises the usability of both a pod and tank.

The PnP tank by Voopoo is made from PCTG material which is different to what you're probably used to with your regular tank. The pod is slightly tinted which could cause some having problems viewing their e-liquid levels. The threaded 510 base includes strong magnets to stay in place and I never had any leaking whatsoever since I first got my hands on one! The PnP pod tank is very versatile and can be even used on your Drag X or Drag S if you are upgrading from one.

There's a lot already out there with the specifications of the pod tank, but the most important questions I'm sure you have is, how does it vape?....

PnP-VM6 Mesh Coil

The VM6 comes with recommended use at 60W-80W. I started my test at the lower end of 60W and the flavour was excellent alongside an impressive cloud knowing there is a lot more to give. All the way through to 80W the tank kept increasing cloud thickness whilst also limiting the flavour the slightest amount each time. At 80W the flavour is noticeably weaker than it was at 60W but still an all round great vape. I found my sweet spot to be around 65W-70W.

PnP-VM5 Mesh Coil

The VM5 comes with recommended use at 40W-50W. For a 0.2ohm coil, the flavour on this was nice throughout the small recommended range available. With additional decent sized cloud, nowhere near that of the VM6 coil. I found the vape to be rather cool but with the airway closed sightly flavour improved and the vape was an all round warm well flavoured vape. My recommendation is 45W with the airflow half closed however this is personal preference.

Refilling the Pod

• Pull Plastic Pod Section From 510 Base
• Remove Rubber Plug at Base of Pod
• Add Your Favourite E-Liquid From Royal Flush Vape
• Wait Around 5 Minutes For Adequate Saturation

Final Thoughts

Overall the Argus GT is a great all round 'box mod'. Voopoo have carried on their eye for detail to create a well built yet lightweight kit. With the inclusion of USB Type-C charging and their latest PnP pod tank, they have definitely created a kit that belongs centre and forefront in the current market. It pleased me so much during this review, I've now even got myself one!
