Refillable Pod Kits

A refillable pod vape kit will usually be your cheapest option, as pre-filled pods are more expensive to buy in bulk than e-liquids. Refillable pods are fully rechargeable, meaning they can be used time and time again with the right care and maintenance, reducing the costs associated with regular replacements. To keep your vape functioning well you should ensure you clean it regularly, keep it out of extreme temperatures, and ensure you install the coil and pods correctly. Well cared for vapes should last a couple of years before needing to be replaced. 

MTL Pod Kits

In order to stay budget conscious your vape kit should be MTL (mouth-to-lung) as well as refillable. This is because MTL kits use less power and less e-liquid than DTL (direct-to-lung) options, saving you money on both your electricity bill and e-liquid. Additionally, MTL kits are generally cheaper to buy because they are simpler than DTL kits. MTL kits usually feature simple inhale activation, pre-installed coils and a built-in battery whereas DTL kits come with locking mechanisms, display screens, and separate batteries and coils.

Shorfill E-liquids

Shortfill e-liquids are commonly available in 50ml or 100ml bottles whereas nic salt e-liquids are only available in 10ml quantities. This makes shortfills the cheaper option as you get a lot more e-liquid in one bottle (even though the cost of a bottle is a bit higher initially). Shortfills typically contain no or very low levels of nicotine so you can add nicotine shots to tailor the strength to your preferences.

Coil Care

Maximise the lifespan of your coil by making sure you prime it properly before using it, we recommend soaking it in e-liquid for 5–10 minutes before first using it. You should also avoid chain vaping as this degrades your coil faster, and avoid using very sweet e-liquid flavours as these can be harder to clean off your coil.  Taking these precautions can usually extend the lifespan of your coil from 1 week to 2 weeks.
