The Smok Nord 5 Vape Kit, as with previous kits in the Nord series has a compact design with outstanding battery life. However, the Nord 5 is a sub-ohm device only.

Featuring the same RPM 3 coils used in the RPM 5 kit (confusing, I know) and best suited for DTL (direct-to-lung) vaping using high VG e-liquids.

MTL (mouth-to-lung) vapers and Nic Salt users have been left out in the cold with this latest version of the Nord and instead might want to look at the Nord 4, Nord 50W or Nord Pro.

The Nord 5 pod kit comes in 12 different colours, 8 in the regular series and 4 in the leather series, so there should be a design available to suit most tastes. The leather series does have the advantage of faster charging which we will cover further into the description.

Firing at up to 80W and powered by a built-in 2000mAh battery, the Nord 5 is a powerful sub-ohm device, guaranteed to give excellent vapour production and flavour in a pocket friendly form factor.

The Nord 5 internal battery can be charged via the USB-C port on the base of the device and charges at 1.2A for the regular kit and 1.5A on the leather versions, fully charging in around 1 hour 40 minutes from flat, which given the battery capacity is not bad going.

On the side of the device you will find a 0.69inch OLED screen which will display things like remaining battery capacity, output wattage coils resistance and puffs. Underneath the screen are two buttons, which can be used to adjust the output wattage from 5W-80W, so you are in full control of the power output.

The Nord 5 features a step less airflow control slider on the back of the device which increases or reduces the massive dual air intakes on either side. Fully open, you can expect the kit to produce some series vapour with great flavour and a smooth draw.

As previously mentioned, the Nord 5 uses exactly the same coils as the RPM 5 Kit, which are confusingly named RPM 3 coils. Despite the strange naming convention, the RPM 3 coils are well regarded by sub-ohm vapers and come in 0.15ohm and 0.23ohm resistances (one of each is included with the kit). The pod is a standard 2ml capacity with a wide bore mouthpiece and features a child safety lock which prevents the coils from being easily removed by children.

How do I fill the Nord 5?

Filling the Nord 5 couldn't be easier;

1. Remove the pod from the device, locate the filling port on the side and open.
2. Fill the pod with 2ml of your chosen e-liquid and close the rubber stopper.
3. Insert the pod back into the Nord 5 device.
4. Wait 2-3 minutes to allow the cotton wicking material to saturate before vaping.

• MTL or nicotine salt devices work safely with moderate amp ratings.

To find your safe charging current, move the decimal point three places to the left in your battery’s mAh rating.
Example: 3500mAh = 3.5A maximum charging current.
Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines and never exceed the recommended charge or discharge rate.

When charging:

• Don’t leave batteries charging unattended or overnight.
