Smok & OFRF NexMesh Pod Kit
Smok & OFRF NexMesh Pod Kit.
A super lightweight and refillable compact pod system, created by Smok in collaboration with OFRF. A colourful aluminium body holds a 1200mAh internal battery, the 30W maximum output will satisfy any vaper. The waterproof design of the NexMesh pod prevents condensation from entering the interior of the body. The new NexMesh conical coils provide excellent flavour and vapour production. Inside the pack are 0.4 ohm A1 mesh coil and a 0.4 SS316 regular coil. Adjustable wattage between 5-30W allows you to custom your vape perfectly.
The lithium battery supports pass through charging, meaning you can still vape it whilst charging. Airflow is also adjustable, altered by the airflow ring situated on the base. NexMesh coils deliver rich flavour and taste, as well as creating a delicious cloud. A larger than average surface area heats up faster and distributes heat evenly, providing a great flavour chasing experience. Both coils, rated at 0.4 ohms are suited to MTL and restricted DTL vaping.
To fill your NexMesh, pull out the rubber bung, add e-liquid through the slot, replace the bung and allow the coil to saturate before use. Why not try a new e-liquid with your new kit, we recommend Vinto by Royal Flush Vape, A classic soft drink loved by all, a fruity blend that is out of this world.
Hello everybody, Josh here again with another in-depth review, and yes it's another pod system, but is this one any different to the others already out there? Are SMOK over saturating the market with pod systems or are they perfectly tailoring each device for specific users? Well, from what I've seen, the NexMESH kit is different to the others available for numerous reasons. This first noticeable difference this time round is obvious in the name; This time SMOK have worked alongside OFRF, a mid-sized vaping company owned by WOTOFO, who in turn was also invested in by SMOK in late 2019. But let us dig deeper and see what this device is truly capable of...

On first unboxing, the NexMESH has a completely different feel to other devices currently on the market. The outer shell is made from an aluminium alloy which has a very light but strong build feel, in addition one side of the device has a mesh design, which reminds me of skateboard grip tape or match strip; I was first sceptical about this and thought it would rub off or grate my skin but it's still going strong after testing and the design is actually smooth but allows for that additional comfort grip. For a boxed shaped device, there are no rough bits or sharp edges which is obviously a bonus!
The fire button on this device is something that I am in love with, SMOK and OFRF have thrown away the norm here and placed the circle fire button within the 'O' of OFRF on one side of the device. The button fires responsively and works almost instantly; I personally feel that this not only gives the device a unique look but also creates an ergonomic grip. Other buttons on the device are also nice and clicky and rattle free! Button functionality is the standard throughout; Five presses of the power button to turn on/off with + & - buttons together to lock.
The screen on the NexMESH is a standard monochrome 0.69" display, nothing too fancy but that's not what this device is about. They have continued their 'no frills get the job done' approach by leaving unnecessary temperature control settings behind.
For such a small device, they have really compacted it full of all required, with the inclusion of managing to fit an impressive 1200mAh internal battery! What is slightly disappointing however is their inclusion of MicroUSB, it would have been nice to see them take the step forward with this device in bringing us Type-C charging capabilities. But with the device itself covered, lets look into the pod...
POD & How It Vapes
So with SMOK and OFRF keeping the device simple and effective, what is the pod and coils made from? Is it a simple vapour or something to get excited for? Just like the rest of the device, the pod is compact whilst also only weighing 100 grams. The pod will only fit in the device one way round and is held in by two magnets, they are not super strong but in theme with the rest of the device, they get the job done!
The pod holds 2ml of e-liquid with integrated non removable duck-billed mouthpiece, refillable via side-filling port with rubber plug. The pod needs to be removed in order to fill.
Refilling the Pod
SMOK and OFRF have continued the trend with a dark tinted glass, something I'm not to keen on as it makes it harder to view the e-liquid level although I understand why they do this, as it does look more aesthetically pleasing. The pod kit comes the 0.4ohm SS316 mesh coil and the 0.4ohm DC MTL coil, both featuring easy plug and play design and are powered by the 'NexMESH technology'.
They state the pod features waterproof design to prevent condensation from entering the interior and after heavy vaping this held true for me. The pod itself contains adjustable airflow and can be adjusted by rotating the airflow intake point at the base of the coil.
The draw on either coil was very smooth and instantaneous thanks to the fast ramp-up speed with the NexMESH coil technology. The vapour is warm and very enjoyable and I could not really find a fault with performance!
SS316 0.4ohm Coil
The SS316 coil comes with recommended use at 15W-20W. Starting at the lower end of 15W, the vapour production was less than that of smoke from a cigarette yet providing adequate vapour for the flavour created. 20W provided a whole mouth flavour and I found it to be the best setting, producing the same amount of vapour that a cigarette would normally produce. I went further and testing the coil at 25W, being 5W over the recommend, the flavour was definitely a full mouth experience however did struggle from time to time producing the odd burnt flavour taste, but not burning cotton, therefore I would recommend staying within the recommendations.
DC 0.4ohm MTL Coil
The DC coil is recommended to be used between 12W-25W and paired perfectly with the Boulevard Shattered Nic Salts by Wick Liquor. Although the coil took some time to break in (around 20 mins), the wait was definitely worth it! At 12W the flavour was smooth and pleasant, producing adequate vapour similar to that of a cigarette. 20W provided a whole new range of flavour in the mouth, yet didn't create much more vapour production. 25W seemed to be the perfect sweet spot! Vapour production wasn't huge yet on the inhale, the vape felt thick and the flavour was truly beautiful for a MTL system!
Overall the NexMESH has been built brilliantly, with their 'get the job done' approach leaving all unnecessary parts and abilities behind, SMOK and OFRF have done an excellent job in creating a well built pod device that fires excellently and produces great flavour. It is a shame that with other devices now coming out on the market with Type-C charging they have decided to stay with a MicroUSB port. For it's size, the NexMESH is hands down one of the greatest newest pod systems I have reviewed and look forward to future inventions like this. If you're not bothered about hardware specifications or fancy colours and just want a decent vape without the hassle then the NexMESH is definitely the device for you!

And that wraps up this review on the NexMESH. I have really enjoyed reviewing this device as it's something different and just works.. Not overly complicated and "gets the job done".. they definitely missed out on that slogan in their advertising!
Although I love this device, I don't think it will replace my Fetch Pro by SMOK anytime soon but if I didn't already have a device similar I would be all over it! Will you get one? Let us know in the comments below.
If you've decided this new kit is for you, we currently stock all 6 colours available for the SMOK OFRF NexMESH!

Pods normally aren't my thing but this is great. I bought it as I have used OFRF Mesh before and got the best flavour yet. This is probably the best pod on the market for flavour, cloud production isn't massive but it's still good.
